Though there were many 19th century inventions, the one that has affected me the most is the telephone. Without it, many of the things we have today wouldn't be in existence, many of the things that I use everyday. For instance, the internet, since it started out with phone lines would not be here, and that would kill most of us. Another thing that came out of the phone was cell phones and for most of us it's a tragedy when we get our cell phone taken away, let alone it completely being never there. Combine the two, and that makes for a really boring world.
